Open road tolling

Open road tolling (ORT), also called free-flow tolling, is the collection of tolls on toll roads without the use of toll booths. Nowadays, there is a clear worldwide move towards free-flow tolling. One major advantage is that it prevents traffic congestion compared to plaza tolling. Drivers are able to pass through the tolling points at highway speed directly without having to slow down. But the implementation of the open-road tolling solution will require a sound enforcement system to deal with possible "leakage".

Currently in China, there are over 24,000 gantries for free-flow tolling. As the major ETC player and Chinese ETC standard drafter, Genvict has rich experience in ETC system construction, and is capable of providing:

◆ Flexible toll models: the toll can be calculated by distance travelled, time spent, vehicle class, and  other parameters requested;

◆ Various automatic vehicle identification (AVI) technologies: dedicated short-range communication (DSRC), radio frequency identification (RFID), automatic number plate recognition (ANPR);

◆ Modular offering: not limited to tolling system (ranging from front-end system to back-office management), we also offer communication system, monitoring system, tunnel management for highway management;

◆ End-to-end approach: full service from design, implementation, training, operation to maintenance.
